Get To Know Mrs. Witcher
Hello my friends! Welcome to my class website. I hope you find it helpful and lots of fun. So....here's a little bit about me.
My husband and I live in Villa Rica, Ga and have quite a large family.....of animals that is. We do not have any children, but we feel like we do! We have American bulldogs, Feists (dogs), a Chihuahua, 1 Cats, and a whole mess of chickens!
I have a musical background in piano, flute, and piccolo. I have been singing in church since I was a young girl. I also paint!
After graduating in from the Douglas County School System in 2003, I moved out to my second home in Athens, Georgia to become a bulldog! I loved my time there marching in the Redcoat band, traveling, and meeting new friends.
I've always known that I wanted to teach, so UGA was the perfect school to pursue this dream. After graduating with my bachelor of science in Child and Family Development with certification in Early Childhood Education, I returned home, married the love of my life, and began teaching at North Douglas Elementary School in third grade. The following year, I entered into the wonderful world of second grade and stayed in that wonderful grade level for almost a decade. Currently, I am in my third year as Reading Interventionist at Brighten Academy for grades K-8th.
In 2011, I completed my Master's degree with Piedmont college in Early Childhood Education. The following year, in 2012, I finished my Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Lincoln Memorial University.

I am dedicated to being a life long learner and have committed myself to becoming the teacher that your child deserves. This appears to be a continuous and ever changing goal--- of which I'm proud to continue working towards. I have been working to be an effective teacher by completing my gifted certification, math endorsement and reading endorsement. I am always looking for ways to make learning exciting, fun, and memorable. I can't wait to make memories with your students!!!
